Receiving a study allowance (= scholarship) in secondary or higher education
Description
The study allowance, more commonly known as a "scholarship", is a financial aid granted by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to pupils and students from disadvantaged backgrounds enrolled in secondary or higher education. To obtain it, you must apply for it every year and meet various conditions, including financial, educational, residence and nationality requirements.
Applications for study grants should preferably be made electronically: the electronic form.

Do not forget to validate and send your form, otherwise your request will not be taken into account.

Procedure
- You submit an application form for study allowance (electronically or by post)
- You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt with a file number:
- Via an "electronic" form, you receive the acknowledgement of receipt instantly in your mailbox.
- Via a "paper" form, you will receive the acknowledgement of receipt by post in the course of the school/academic year.
- One of our file managers will contact you to obtain any missing annexes or certificates (do not send any documents until you are asked to do so):
- Via an "electronic" form, you will be contacted by e-mail.
- Via a "paper" form, you will be contacted by post or e-mail.
- You will be notified of the decision:
- Notification of the decision (positive or negative) will be sent, by post only, as soon as the application form has been processed/closed in the course of the school/academic year.
- No duplicate of the decision will be returned by us.
- A higher education recipient who has submitted an application form via an electronic form has the option of printing a copy of the notification of the decision.
