If you wish to work as a health care provider in Belgium and have a diploma from a Member State of the EEA or Switzerland, you must:

1. Apply for professional recognition from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. This will enable you to obtain the title required to practice your profession.

2. Obtaining the authorization to practice from the FPS Public Health (visa). This authorization will be sent to you automatically a few days after you have obtained your professional recognition.

Procedure

The documents required to apply for professional recognition vary according to the profession. You will find the application form with the necessary documents below for each profession or type of profession on our website.

You must submit your application for professional recognition:

-Or by applying for your European professional card via the online tool provided by the European Commission IMI. This only concerns the following professions: physiotherapists, nurses and pharmacists.

You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt no later than one month after the administration has received your application.

We will notify you of the decision within a period of 3 to 4 months of your application being complete.
