Description

You should contact the Bureau International Jeunesse (BIJ). BIJ is a department of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation set up to manage various international non-formal education programmes aimed at young people in Wallonia and Brussels who are not afraid to move, alone or in groups. The programme you are interested in is "Tremplin Jeune". Within it, the "Tremplin Plus" programme enables young people to develop their professional career or their civic commitment through experience abroad (short term), whether it be to :

  • Participate actively in a colloquium, forum, conference or event (speaking, presentation of a project, expertise, etc.).
  • Take part in a short practical training course that does not exist in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

  • Acquire new knowledge to develop your professional career or your civic commitment

Key points

  • The duration of the apprenticeship may not exceed :
    • Colloquium, forum, conference, event: maximum 15 days
    • Practical training (outside any academic programme): maximum 12 weeks
  • The chosen destination must be motivated and justified.
  • Attention, a Tremplin Plus project cannot be :
    • A project within the framework of a school/academic programme or a doctoral programme
    • A training course lasting more than 12 weeks
    • A project in a development cooperation NGO
    • A humanitarian project
    • An international project
    • A project for the benefit of your employer or a company
    • A project that benefits from an Actiris or Forem stock exchange

 

 

Conditions

  • You are between 18 and 35 years old.
  • You are a French-speaking person living in Wallonia or Brussels for at least 2 years.
  • You are no longer a student.

 

 

Procedure

What should you put in your file?

  1. The completed Tremplin Plus form on the website of Internation Youth Bureau
  2. A complete CV
  3. A copy of your identity card
  4. For non-Belgian nationals, a certificate from the municipal administration stating that you have been living in Wallonia or Brussels for more than 2 years.
  5. An official invitation/registration letter

When and how to submit your file?

  1. Create a single PDF document containing all the documents requested above.
  2. Send the document by e-mail to: tremplins@cfwb.be and to Marie-Sophie.wery@cfwb.be, project manager Tremplins Jeunes

Applications must be submitted on the 1st of each month. The actual departure can only take place, at the earliest, 6 weeks after the submission of the file (from the 1st of the month).
Please note that it is only possible to benefit from a Tremplin scholarship once a year and twice in total.
 
What are the selection criteria?

  • Compliance with the programme criteria (objectives, age, residence, etc.) and application/accomplishment dates
  • Priority given to people.
    • who do not yet have international experience
    • who have not yet benefited from a Tremplin scholarship
    • who take an active part in the event (speaking, presentation of a project, expertise, etc.).
  • Motivation of the candidate
  • Relevance of the project to the applicant's training or civic involvement
  • Priority given to neighbouring countries
  • For training courses, it must be shown that they are not organised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
  • For paid training courses, they may not exceed the sum of 500 €, with a certificate in support.

If your project is selected, you will need to take the necessary steps to :

  • Practically organise your stay
  • Taking out insurance abroad
  • Obtain a passport (if necessary)
  • Be in vaccination order (if necessary - more information here!).
  • Check the security situation in the country (for this purpose, you can consult the website of the Federal Public Department of Foreign Affairs).
