Seeking support and financial assistance to live a work experience in another country

Description

You should contact the Bureau International Jeunesse (BIJ). The BIJ is a department of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation set up to manage various international non-formal education programmes aimed at young people in Wallonia and Brussels who are not afraid to move, alone or in groups. The programme you are interested in is "Tremplin Jeune". Within it, the "Tremplin Job" programme allows you to live, in another country, a professional experience in a company, an organisation, an association,...

To which objectives?

  • Use knowledge acquired during your training
  • Acquire new knowledge to develop new skills

 

 

Key points

  • The destination must be motivated and justified and priority is given to neighbouring countries.
  • It is up to you to find an organisation ready to welcome you, to help you, a database is available in the BIJ Mobility Info Space.
  • Projects of minimum 3 weeks, maximum 12 weeks financed.
  • A Tremplin Job project cannot be :
    • A compulsory traineeship as part of a school/academic/doctoral programme
    • A project in a development cooperation NGO
    • A humanitarian project
    • An international project
    • A project in Belgian public departments or companies abroad (e.g. Belgian embassy ...)
    • A project in an international organisation (e.g. UN, international court of justice...For information, projects of this type can be supported by WBI).
    • A job as a French teacher
    • A project managed by an intermediary organisation
    • A job substitution (share of the reception structure of maximum €1,000 per month)
    • A project that benefits from an Actiris or Forem scholarship

 

 

Conditions

  • You are between 18 and 35 years old.
  • You are a French-speaking person living in Wallonia or Brussels for at least 2 years.
  • You are no longer a student.

 

 

Procedure

What should you put in your file?

  1. The completed Tremplin Job form on the website of International Youth Bureau
  2. A complete CV
  3. A copy of your identity card
  4. For non-Belgian nationals, a certificate from the municipal administration stating that you have been living in Wallonia or Brussels for more than 2 years.
  5. For jobseekers, a certificate from Forem or Actiris.
  6. A letter of commitment with the organisation's stamp or on company letterhead.

When and how to submit your application?
 

  1. Create a single PDF document containing all the documents requested above.
  2. Send the document by email to: tremplins@cfwb.be and Marie-Sophie.wery@cfwb.be, project managerYouthTremplins

Applications must be submitted on the 1st of each month. The actual departure can only take place, at the earliest, 6 weeks after the submission of the file (from the 1st of the month). It is of course possible to submit your application (on the first of the month) well before this deadline.

You will be informed of the Committee's decision by the end of the month at the latest.

Please note that it is only possible to benefit from a Tremplin scholarship once a year and twice in total.
 
What are the selection criteria?

  • Compliance with the programme criteria (objectives, age, residence, etc.) and application/accomplishment dates
  • Motivation and autonomy of the candidate
  • Quality of the project proposed by the host organization
  • Relevance of the project to the candidate's training and motivation
  • Priority given to neighbouring countries
  • The destination must be motivated by the learning objectives (the competences to be acquired are linked to the specificities of the host country)
  • Concrete short- and medium-term benefits
  • Priority is given to people who do not yet have international experience and who have not yet benefited from a Springboard scholarship.

 
If your project is selected, you will need to take the necessary steps to :

  • Practically organise your stay
  • Taking out insurance abroad
  • Obtain a passport (if necessary)
  • Be in order regarding the host country's legislation on work permits (check with the embassy of the host country).
  • Be in vaccination order (if necessary).
  • Check the security situation in the country (for this purpose, you can consult the website of the Federal Public Department of Foreign Affairs).

Objections may be sent by regular mail to the Bureau International Jeunesse.

 

Advantages

  • Reimbursement of international transport at the most economical rate (maximum €1,000)
  • Flat-rate grant of 150 euros per week (for a maximum of 12 weeks)
