Applying to become a foster family member

Description
To become a foster family member you must apply to one of the family placement departments approved by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
Afterwards, during a programme of meetings, you will get to know this department better in order to:
- determine the relevance of your project ;
- define and understand the functioning of your family and the resources you can offer the child (educational skills, emotional input, relational network, creativity, ability to work in partnership, etc.).
Key points
As the aim is to ensure the best possible match between the foster child and his or her foster environment, the time limit for the foster family member's application varies from case to case and can extend over several months.
