Getting to know the child and his/her family (pre-care)

Description
As soon as the decision to accept the child is taken by the sending authority, you get to know the child and his or her parents. Contacts are gradually established before the child is staying full-time with the foster family member.
This period can last several weeks during which everyone gradually gets to know each other. The pre-care period is a stressful time for both the child and the family: everyone is happy with the outcome of the project but is not entirely sure that they will be able to live together.
