Description
The preparation stage is fundamental and has two objectives:
- Inform you about the stages of the adoption procedure, its legal effects and consequences.
- Make you aware of the psychological, family and relational issues involved in adoption and the usefulness of post-adoption follow-up.
A preparation cycle may include one or more collective information and awareness-raising sessions as well as individual interviews.
At the end of this preparation, you will receive the preparation certificate.

- Participation in the preparation cycles is paying and open to anyone who meets the Belgian legal conditions of age and civil status to adopt.
